The rankings are bound to rattle some feathers

Leeds United supporters have been named as the most passionate supporters in the Premier League in a sports websites’ new rankings.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have endured an underwhelming season so far, winning just five of their opening 21 top-flight matches. However, the Yorkshire out are consistently well-backed by their fanbase – both home and away.

Football website 1sports1 have since claimed that Leeds’ fans are the best in the Premier League – publishing rankings that are bound to rattle some feathers.

The rankings are based on fan votes accumulated from a number of football website, for example, the92.net and  footballgroundmap.com.

Based on the fan votes accumulated from websites like the92.net, footballgrounfmap.com etc Here are the most passionate EPL fan bases in the Premier League –

When discussing why Leeds have the best fanbase in the league, 1sports1 state: “The lilywhites of West Yorkshire are simply one of the most famous clubs in the country. They’ve experienced great success in the past and have a great fanbase.

“Leeds is the largest English city with only one professional club and even during tough times their fans still come close to filling the 37,000 seat capacity at Elland Road while screaming, ‘We are Leeds!’ Perhaps it’s the fiery northern mentality that is so deeply ingrained into the psyche of every Leeds fan that makes them collectively feel they’re capable of creating an atmosphere that changes score lines. An Elland Road in full voice not only spurs Leeds United on, but it also terrifies the opposition.”

In second position is Newcastle United, who, much like Leeds, boast incredible support both at St. James’ Park and when the Magpies play away.

Although Eddie Howe’s side are facing a relegation battle this season, the mood on Tyneside has improved significantly following the departure of ex-owner Mike Ashley and the takeover by the PIF.

Just two of the so-called ‘Big Six’ feature in the top 10 rankings – with Liverpool’s supporters coming in at third on the list.

West Ham, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Norwich and Southampton make up the rest of the top 10.

In contrast, Premier League newcomers Brentford have been named as the club with the least passionate fanbase.
