Ben Kenyon

If you thought you’d seen the last of Emmanuel Adebayor, think again.

The 31-year-old striker was released by Tottenham Hotspur in September…and it’s safe to say Spurs fans weren’t too dismayed to see the back of him.

But rumours the Togo forward could be ready to make a shock return to the Premier League just will not go away.

The Mirror report he has been in talks with Chelsea about joining the club in January which will be yet more good news for the club’s misfiring strikers – Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao – who have bagged just seven goals between them.

during the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers at White Hart Lane on August 24, 2014 in London, England.

Despite being given the boot from White Hart Lane in summer, Spurs are still believed to be paying his £100,000-a-week wages until his contract expires next summer.

Adebayor has also reportedly had talks with West Ham and Watford. Reports suggest that he hopes to remain London-based as he attempts to relaunch his Premier League career.
