Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss has scored his first major acting job since kicking his meth addiction.

Weiss’ great return to acting will be in Jon Gunn’s Jesus Revolution alongside Fraisier’s Kelsey Grammer, comedian Jim Gaffigan, and The Kissing Booth’s Joel Courtney.

According to Deadline, the film will explore the true story of the Jesus movement in 1960s America.

Weiss made his name portraying Greg Goldberg in the Mighty Ducks Franchise that followed the trials and tribulations of ice hockey players. He then went on to appear in Boy Meets World, Freaks and Geeks, and The Tony Danza Show.

Things took a dark turn in 2020 when the Los Angeles Police Department was called to a property in Marysville, California, to reports of a man that “did not belong there.” Marysville Police later confirmed that they had found Weiss inside the homeowner’s car.

The report added that Weiss “displayed symptoms of being under the influence of methamphetamine” and that “the vehicle he was filtering through was not his.”

Actor and producer Drew Gallagher created a GoFundMe that raised enough funds to admit Weiss to a sober-living facility.

With Weiss now back on his feet, could this spell a Might Ducks appearance in the future?
