Merseyside police are looking into the incident
Cristiano Ronaldo has publicly apologised after a video emerged appearing to show him smashing a fan’s mobile phone following Manchester United’s defeat to Everton on Saturday afternoon.
Everton picked up a crucial three points as they beat United 1-0 thanks to a deflected goal from Anthony Gordon.
The away side were unsurprisingly frustrated after yet another lacklustre performance as they fall further away from fourth spot, and their star ma Ronaldo let his frustration boil over as he made his back back down the tunnel.
Video footage filmed from the stands appears to show the Portuguese slapping a phone out of someone’s hand, smashing it in the process.
