Erik ten Hag tells Man United officials ‘not to bother him’ ahead of Ajax games

Ten Hag is currently focused on Ajax’s title run-in

New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly told officials at the club ‘not to bother him’ in the build-up to Ajax games.

Ten Hag will join United in the summer after agreeing to take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick. However, before he moves to Old Trafford, the 52-year-old is focused on delivering his current club the Eredivisie title, with the Dutch side four games away from winning the league.

And according to ESPNTen Hag has said that he doesn’t want to be in talks with United bosses in the 48 hours preceding their final games of the season.

The Dutchman supposedly made the requests as part of his negotiations to become United manager and expects them to be respected by bosses at the Premier League side.

While he hasn’t officially taken the reins yet, Ten Hag will have his work cut out in order to turn United’s fortunes around and back into a side capable of challenging at the top.

Thursday’s lacklustre 1-1 draw to Chelsea left the Red Devils even further behind in their chase for the Champions League spots.

‘He has got a solid CV, a good reputation’

After the game at Old Trafford, Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane gave his verdict on the appointment of Ten Hag.

“I think it is a good appointment,” he said.

“With all the speculation it has been on the cards for the last few months and I think the club will be glad just to get the deal done.

“He can start looking at the club, albeit from the background because he does not start until July.

“He has got a solid CV, a good reputation but the proof is in the pudding and we will see what he is like when he is in job and whether he can get Manchester United back to where they need to be.”
