All three charges are in relation to the same woman.
The attempted rape allegedly happened in October, 2021 while the controlling and coercive behaviour relates relates to a period between November 2018 and October this year, where he has been accused of making threatening and derogatory comments towards the complainant, as well as monitoring her social media activities.
The charge for assault occasioning actual bodily harm is from an alleged incident that is said to have taken place in December 2021.
Greenwood was first held in January after allegations relating to a young woman first surfaced online.
He had been on bail since February 2 but was arrested on Saturday following an alleged breach of conditions and was remanded in custody after appearing in front of Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Manchester United have suspended the forward from playing while the outcome of the case remains ongoing. Greenwood’s also been dropped from several of his sponsors such as Nike while EA confirmed he had been removed from active squads on FIFA 22.
Despite being suspended, the forward is still still earning his salary, which is reported to be in the region of £75,000 a week, pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
United were recently forced to come out and release a statement confirming that no change had been made to Greenwood’s playing status after fans saw his name remain on the website.
Greenwood will appear before Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on November 21.
