It’s exciting times at Manchester City.
They’re chasing four trophies this season and appear to have bagged the biggest name in the football management game from the start of next season.
It’s all enough to make rivals envious, and as they hosted Everton on Wednesday evening, plenty of Manchester United fans reverted to a familiar topic – the Etihad Stadium’s empty seats.
It’s not the first time it’s happened – even Sky Sports joined in when a few home supporters failed to turn up for a League Cup fixture against Hull City earlier in the season.
Here’s the predictable reaction on Twitter…
The only thing blue about Manchester is the empty seats at the Etihad 👀

Why have Manchester City fans gone the match in fancy dress? They are all dressed as empty seats #MCFCvEFC

(We’ve heard that one before.)
Look at all those empty seats at Etihad! And they believe the city is theirs?

But just before everyone jumps to conclusions, it’s worth noting that there was a valid excuse.
