Floyd Mayweather told us back in 2009 that the ‘Fight of the Century’ would be a dud.
Despite all the pre-fight hype, last Saturday’s main event at the MGM Grand was regarded as a let-down following Mayweather’s evasion tactics to defeat Pacquiao on points.
But the champion had told everyone to prepare themselves for an anti-climax six years ago, and shared a snippet of that interview on his Instagram account on Thursday.
“If I beat Manny Pacquiao, you know what they gonna say? ‘You supposed to beat him, you Floyd Mayweather, you the bigger man’. Then if I outbox him they’ll say it was a boring fight,” said Mayweather.
He was right about that…
