Oh Pep, why must you toy with our emotions?

With Pep Guardiola’s revelation that he would be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season and announcement that he would be interested in a Premier League job, the ears of chairmen and fans alike perked up.

Many believe that it’s a two-horse race for the Spaniard’s services with the two Manchester clubs reportedly battling it out for his signature.

But Guardiola has thrown a spanner in the works with his most recent comments that suggest he may not be ready to set up shop in the Premier League until 2018.

“When I sign a contract I will announce it immediately,” Guardiola said ahead of Bayern’s first game since the winter break.

“Maybe it will be two years until I will coach a team in England. I am very happy about my experience in Munich. I am working until my last second here.

“After that I will go home and wait to see if it is possible to move to England or not. If it’s not, then I won’t.”
