Daniel Sturridge’s reported pre-match meals probably aren’t helping his fitness battle

Jurgen Klopp probably has bigger problems to deal with than worrying about what Daniel Sturridge is eating while watching Liverpool games.

But considering the striker is pretty much a perma-crock right now, maybe a change in his diet could be the secret to getting back on the field.

The former Chelsea man has not featured for the club since the loss to Newcastle, and he has watched several Liverpool games since at Anfield from the club’s hospitality suite.

There is nice food served there, it’s cosy and we’re sure every need of Sturridge’s is taken care of.

But according to the Daily Mirror, the England frontman has no interest in the fancy food dished out to the clubs’s special guests, but instead tucks into Subway sandwiches.

The service on offer at the club on match day includes a five course meal, but instead it seems the Sturridge loves nothing more than a tucking into a ‘chicken teriyaki’ sandwich, with extra green peppers’.

According to the always reliable (oh sure) inside club source, Sturridge likes the simple food on offer from the American food chain.

“Daniel has been watching the footie for most of the season from a private box in Anfield, but rather than having food from the club he has sandwiches from Subway served.

“The food on offer in fantastic, but I guess he really does like his sandwiches.”

We’re sure there’s plenty of you out there that like a Subway, but maybe Sturridge should be getting some raw eggs into him to try and build up his ‘man of glass’ body.
