Simon Mignolet wasn’t the only one who was absent for the final fifteen minutes of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

The Black Cats earned a draw with two late goals, but Anfield had emptied considerably once the clock struck 77 minutes.

The walkout was organised by Liverpool supporters’ group Spion Kop 1906 to protest against the increased ticket prices that would see certain seats in Anfield’s new main stand go for a staggering £77.

Television cameras picked up the exodus as supporters poured out from the Kop – and it wasn’t all regular punters who left early.

Former Reds defender Jamie Carragher joined the thousands who left the stadium before Liverpool’s 2-0 lead was pegged back thanks to late goals from Adam Johnson and Jermain Defoe.
