He ain’t subtle, we’ll give him that.
In case you missed it, Chelsea’s captain, leader, legend John Terry is on his way out of the club after revealing last week that he has not been offered a new deal.
But the 35-year-old is not going without a fight.
Using the platform of his post-match interview with Sky Sports in the wake of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, Terry once more put forward his case for a contract renewal – attempting to tug on interviewer Geogg Shreeves’ heart-strings.
“What they’ve given for me, as a young 14 and 17 year old boy, I’ll never forget, they’re memories that will live with me forever,” he said of the Stamford Bridge fans, following his first home game after dropping last weekend’s bombshell.
“It’s a difficult one. The club is the most important thing. There is no communication between the club and me at the minute. I’ve said what I had to say and that is how it was.
“I made it very clear, I want to stay.”
