Pure Raheem...

Raheem the Red Devil?

The morning newspapers are awash with near identical rumours that Manchester United have expressed an interest in Raheem Sterling.

The Telegraph are just one outlet to suggest that the Old Trafford club have approached their great rivals for the Liverpool ace.

If we were a cynical bunch we’d assume these were leaks by Sterling’s agent. But we aren’t, so we don’t.

Bale to remain at Real

Another reported target for Louis van Gaal’s men looks to be out of reach as Gareth Bale is set to prolong his stay in sunny Spain.

The Mirror report that the Welshman has no desire to leave Real Madrid and is focused on proving his doubters wrong.

The news will come as a blow to United, who had hoped that the player would be up for a swap with David de Gea.

Mats says nein to United

German tabloid Bild have further bad news for Van Gaal as they claim Mats Hummels has also decided to stay put.

The Borussia Dortmund defender had been thought to be Manchester-bound to solidify the backline at United.

However, quotes from Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc point to the German being minded to stay.
