A Newcastle ball boy ruins West Ham’s goal celebrations in a comical moment

After Mohammed Kudus put West Ham 1-2 up at St James’ Park he ran to the nearest ball boy during his customary celebration.

Normally, the Ghanaian picks up a stool and stares into the crowd. However, this time, he was denied and had to settle for the advertising hoardings. The youngster, who presumably was disappointed in Newcastle letting a lead slip, was not best pleased with the West Ham star refusing to hand over his stool despite the player asking multiple times.

The attacking midfielder brought out the celebration as recently as two weeks ago in West Ham’s dismantling of Freiburg in a 5-0 thrashing in the UEFA Europa League.

Eventually the goalscorer gave up before being hoisted onto the advertising boards to the dismay of the Newcastle faithful behind the goal.

Kudus has impressed this season contributing to much of West Ham’s success with seven goals and four assists for the Hammers this season. The 23-year-old swapped Amsterdam for London last summer and will, no doubt, have Europe’s biggest clubs baying for his signature this summer.

In a thrilling game, Newcastle took the lead via the penalty spot as Alexander Isak calming finished from 12 yards. David Moyes’ side fought back 15 minutes later as Michail Antonio found space finishing with aplomb. Kudus put West Ham into the lead on the stroke of half-time, firing a right-footed shot from just inside the penalty area.

West Ham continued to pressure the Magpies further extending their dominance through Jarrod Bowen, who put them 1-3. West Ham may have thought the game was over, but Isak was on hand from the spot again on 77 minutes. Just six minutes later, Harvey Barnes got in on the act levelling at 3-3 in front of a raucous atmosphere. Barnes was not finished, firing Newcastle into the lead with just minutes to go.

The 4-3 victory catapults Newcastle to eight in the Premier League just one point behind West Ham.
