Fan theory claims to uncover where The Simpsons is set

Tom Victor

It’s been one of TV’s biggest mysteries, but some hardy Simpsons fans believe they have solved it.

The world’s most famous sitcom family live in Springfield, but those behind the show have done everything in their power to throw people off the scent when it comes to identifying which state the town is in.

But YouTube channel The Film Theorists has set about discarding the red herrings and using all the clues available to work out where Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie reside.

They take a scientific approach, ruling out half of the United States on the basis that the local radio station, KBBL, begins with a K – only possible in 24 of the 50 states.

They rule things out based on very specific references from old episodes (nothing after season nine) and tick states off the list a few at the time.

So, where do they live? We’ll let the Film Theorists answer that for you.
