Liverpool offer Lambert for Benteke

Liverpool have responded to Sunday’s miserable end to the season by stepping up their bid to bring Christian Benteke to Anfield.

The Reds are plotting a big-money move for the £32m-rated striker and will throw in Rickie Lambert to sweeten the deal, according to the Daily Mirror.

Lambert rejected a switch to Villa in January but may have changed his mind following a disappointing year on Merseyside.

Arsenal target Vidal

Despite being linked to Manchester United for duration of last summer’s transfer window, it seems Arturo Vidal could now be heading to Arsenal.

The Juventus star is set to join up with Chile for the Copa America after the Champions League final, but the Gunners are reportedly close to putting a £25m deal together.

Argentine journalist Hernan Feler, who broke the story of Arsenal’s interest in Alexis Sanchez last year, tweeted over the weekend: ‘After the Copa America in Chile, it will be made official the arrival of Arturo Vidal to Arsenal. Everything is closed. Alexis will partner him.’

Could that be the signing to turn the Gunners into title challengers?

Chelsea chasing Ghana international

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are planning to make Ghana international Baba Rahman their first signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old left-back has impressed for Bundesliga side Augsburg and is thought to have a hefty price tag of £20m.

The proposed transfer could spell the end of Filipe Luis’ Chelsea career, with the former Atletico Madrid man reportedly frustrated at his bit-part role this season.
