The Spanish side are not happy
Real Madrid have been left furious with agent Jorge Mendes after they failed to sign Leny Yoro ahead of Manchester United.
United made Yoro their second signing this summer after securing Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee at the beginning of the summer.
In their first transfer window since becoming minority shareholders, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have not messed around as they secured two key players in Zirkzee and Yoro and are linked with several others.
Lille defender Yoro, who has been dubbed ‘the best young defender in the world’ completed a move to Old Trafford despite strong links to Madrid.
Yoro is represented by Mendes’ Gestifute agency, and according to The Mirror the Spanish club believe the agent should claim responsibility for Yoro not signing for them.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side believes the finances of the deal to take him to United worked in Mendes’ favour and as such are considering severing all ties with the Portuguese agent.
It was reported that Yoro fancied a move to Real Madrid ahead of the Red Devils but the La Liga side only offered €20m.
He joined United last week for €62m and had his first training session with the squad on Friday.
He travelled to Scotland with the team and made his debut on Saturday at Murrayfield in a pre-season friendly against Rangers which United won 2-0.
United have also been linked with Benfica’s Joao Neves but face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag’s side have also seen two bids rejected for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite and one bid rejected for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also frustrated with the situation surrounding the future of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin who has been linked with a move away in recent weeks.
Lunin shares the same agent as Yoro which is further straining the relationship between the club and Mendes.
