Sony keep coming up with nifty ways for you to use your Playstation 4.
This week sees the launch of the Playstation 4 System Update 3.5, which brings with it a handy way to stream your PS4 through your PC or Mac thanks to Remote Play.
Plug your Dualshock controller into your computer, follow the set up, and then you’re away with yet another screen to play some of the best games on the planet.
Here’s how you get started
Your first step is to install a Remote Play app onto the computer you wish to stream your PS4 onto. Head here for all the nuts and bolts via the official Sony website.
(NOTE: In order for this tech wizardry to work, your computer must beWindows 8.1, Windows 10 or greater or OS X 10.10 or OS X 10.11)
Once you’ve done that, head back to your Playstation 4 and do a small settings tweak:
First, enable Remote Play on your console via ‘Remote Play Connection Settings’.
Then, head to ‘Power Saving Settings’, followed by ‘Set Features Available in Rest Mode. Once you are there you want to hit every checkbox like you see below.
And there you have it: Playstation 4 goodness streaming through your computer or Mac. Providing you have a good enough internet connection, you can play PS4 on a computer of your choosing. Never be bored when stuck in a hotel again.
Just try not to get caught in your office playing Rocket League…
