You won’t find a fighter much braver than Nick Blackwell.
The former British middleweight champion refused to crumble in the face of a brutal onslaught from Chris Eubank Jr when the two clashed at Wembley on March 26.
He kept on marching forward against an incessant barrage of punches from Eubank Jr, but his incredible heart and fortitude almost cost him dear.
Serious swelling above his eye stopped the fight in the 10th, but bleeding on the skull forced doctors to put him in an induced coma.
Blackwell’s family, friends and fans of boxing across the world faced a nervous wait to see how badly he was hurt.
But after he was brought round from his coma by doctors, fans everywhere will be delighted to see the 25-year-old sat up in bed and giving the thumbs up.

It’s going to be a long road to recovery and nobody knows yet whether he will fight again, but it’s incredibly heartening to see him smiling.
But if anyone can win this hardest of fights, it’s Blackwell. Get well soon champ.
