Netflix is about to make it much easier to watch stuff on your phone

The streaming service will bring in data controls for mobile use

Getting your Netflix fix on your phone is about to become cheaper – or more expensive – depending on your own preference.

With more and more people tuning into their favourite TV shows and movies while on-the-go, Netflix has made a change to how much it costs its users to enjoy the streaming service.

Currently, Netflix’s default setting will enable you to stream about three hours of TV shows and movies per gigabyte of data.

The latest update of the mobile app will allow users to adjust video quality and loading times in exchange for data used, so that if you’re prioritising data consumption over quality – or quality over data consumption – you can change your setting accordingly.

People who have unlimited data packages will be particularly pleased, as Netflix will introduce an Unlimited setting for those who want perfect picture quality.

To set your cellular data usage, make sure you have updated your Netflix app on iOS or Android to the most recent version, select “App Settings” from the menu, and pick “Cellular Data Usage.”

Meanwhile, it turns out there’s a science behind why you pick certain things to watch on Netflix.
