This is an emoji-nal rollercoaster.
Our text conversations have been greatly enriched thanks to the use of emojis, although we didn’t bargain for the different ways in which you could use them.
We already know that emojis can mean different things on different phones, and that using the icons in Snapchat can take on other meanings.
Now there’s another debate surrounding the monkey emoji – or emojis, depending on your view.
The question was brought to the attention of the internet by Jonathan Sun, who tweets at @jonny_sun, and now everyone is confused.
In a Twitter poll, Jonathan asked if the monkey emoji is “one monkey making three faces” or “three different monkeys”?
seriouse question!!!
🙈🙊🙉

There’s four days to go on the poll, and at the time of writing, there are 90,000 votes and 5k retweets.
Some say it’s the same; others are referring back to the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” theory.
Basically, no one can agree, as the two options are currently neck and neck.
@jonnysun @jarry obviously it's the same goddamn monkey, why would you bring 3 separate monkeys to a photoshoot?

@jonnysun I'm shocked that it's not overwhelmingly option 1, as in 1 monkey
