This is very worrying.
Manchester United’s home game with Bournemouth was due to kick off at 3pm along with the rest of the Premier League’s final schedule of games, but twenty minute prior to the start of the match, the whole stadium was urgently evacuated.
There is a serious security concern, and a ‘Code Red’ situation has been signalled. All the fans within the stadium were asked to leave as a matter of urgency. The game has not yet been cancelled but there will be a delay of at least 45 minutes, according to reports.
We will update you as soon as we have more information.
UPDATE: We can confirm that a ‘suspect package’ was found in the NW quadrant of the stadium. It is for this reason that the Stretford End and the North Stand were evacuated.
