Dog is supposedly man’s best friend. However, according to Australian native Richard East, a cat makes for a more than promising partner.
Richard was working a regular corporate job when he suddenly decided to leave a relatively comfortable existence for a life on the road in Australia – with none other than his cat Willow, and a campervan.
VanCatMeow chronicles their adventures and fans can keep track of the pair’s excursions on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

After arriving in Queensland, East told Mashable:
“I wasn’t happy at work… I was at work for 10 years, and I needed a change. I didn’t want to go overseas for six months, and then return to a similar job, with the same situation. That’s why the van came in, so I could make a change for the longer term.”
The simple travelling life has treated East and Willow well, where the outdoors have become their domain, living comfortably with no burdens or demands.

“It’s amazing, because we just rock up anywhere, and if it’s a safe area… I don’t have Willow on a leash,” Richard added. “She just explores, comes back to the van and usually climbs up onto the roof to have a nap. She knows the van is her home, but the only thing that changes is her backyard.

The pictures of their journey are just breathtakingly beautiful and serve to remind people that there’s more to life than your daily 9-to-5 job.
