Transfer Gossip: Manchester United demand world record fee for De Gea

United tell Real to get real

The heels have firmly been dug in at Manchester United over Real Madrid’s pursuit of David De Gea

Madrid have offered £20m for the 24-year-old – but The Mirror say the Reds won’t accept anything less than a world record £35m fee for him.

It seems they would rather run down his contract and let him leave on a Bosman next summer than part with him now on the cheap.

Meanwhile, Real are not budging on their £35m valuation of Bernabeu stalwart Sergio Ramos.

Rodgers eyes Zappacosta

While Manchester United flounder in the transfer market, Brendan Rodgers is busy tying up deals at Anfield.

With five signings already in the bag, Rodgers has been on the phone again – this time enquiring about Atalanta’s 23-year-old defender Davide Zappacosta, according to the Express.

The Italian U21 defender played in his country’s victory over England.

City want Delph

Manchester City are chasing anything English that moves this summer. Now they’re well and truly in the hunt for Aston Villa’s star man Fabian Delph.

The Mirror say City are ready to trigger a £10m buyout clause in the 25-year-old’s contract to bring him to the Etihad.
