Watch Gareth Bale score a stunner in training before Wales v England

Pick that one out!

England fans will hope Gareth Bale isn’t able to repeat this in Lens on Thursday.

Of course Wales fans will be desperate to see lightning strike for a second time at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Nothing can be said about Bale’s abilities that we don’t already know, but that doesn’t mean the Real Madrid forward can’t still leave us speechless from time to time.

The former Tottenham star will be the clear danger man for the likes of Chris Smalling and Gary Cahill to deal with, but there’s no answer to finishes like this one.

It doesn’t matter that it was only in training.

Bale scored seven of Wales’ 11 goals as they qualified for Euro 2016 behind Belgium, and was on the scoresheet again in the 2-1 victory over Slovakia in his country’s opening game.

The 26-year-old might have scored better goals in club football, or at least comparable goals in more high-pressure situations, but it remains a timely reminder of his otherworldly ability.

Wales will guarantee their passage to the last 16 with victory over England, while Roy Hodgson’s side will be well on the way to the knockout stages if they pick up three points in Lens.
