The Crystal Palace man may not be the greatest player in the world. He may not be the greatest player in Wales’ midfield. But you would do well to find a more committed footballer anywhere. He is loved by supporters of both club and country for being the very soul of any team he plays for.
And talking of a soul, the man can move. Again, he may not have the elegance of Fred Astaire, nor the smooth style of Usher, but the bearded genius has a rhythm all of his own. No one gets everyone else moving quite like the Cardiff cavorter. He’s like a one-man Ibiza foam party.
Welsh football enjoyed the greatest moment in its history on Monday when their heroic national team thrashed Russia 3-0 in European Championships to qualify ahead of England at the top of their group. Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey are in great form and anything seems possible.
