What’s not to love about Gareth Bale?
He’s just a bloke from Cardiff who became the most expensive player in the world, he can score a great free kick, outpace people by just by kicking the ball past them and running around them, and right now he’s a hero for three million people in Wales.
But in his post-match interview after Wales beat Northern Ireland, there was a great reminder that he’s just a normal guy.
While being asked about the match, Bale instead wanted to talk about something else.
“My mate’s having his wedding today.” said Bale, pretty much giving the best wedding present anyone could ask for, before going onto congratulate him on national television.
It went down pretty well…
Gareth Bale just gave a shoutout on the field to his friend whose wedding he's missing. Suddenly your cake plate looks like a bad gift.
