From Tbilisi to Lyon, they’ve had some memories.
Ireland’s Euro 2016 adventure has come to an end after Antoine Griezmann’s brace, combined with Shane Duffy’s red card, ensured that France would be playing the winner of England vs Iceland in the quarter-finals.
Every single Irish supporter is understandably on a low right now, but there’s reasons to be cheerful. Even before Ireland got their tournament underway against Sweden in Saint-Denis, the road to Euro 2016 has been an incredibly memorable one.
Who can forget McGeady’s brace against Georgia, O’Shea’s dramatic equaliser in Gelsenkirchen or Shane Long’s winner against the Germans in Dublin? Wes Hoolahan’s goal against Sweden was pure magic and Robbie Brady’s winner against Italy provided us with a footballing memory that will be cherished forever.
The Irish players can leave Euro 2016 with their heads held high and this message from the Southampton striker perfectly reflects this.

Long isn’t the only player to have worn the green jersey that has rallied around the team.
One of very few nations who can be proud of every player fan performance and aspect of the tournament. I know I am. #COYBIG
