Gareth Bale’s popularity ratings in England have taken a battering lately.
Ahead of England’s meeting with Wales a couple of weeks ago, Bale claimed in an interview that the Welsh were “more passionate” than their neighbours, much to the displeasure of many an Englishman.
England were victorious that day in Lens, but the fortunes of both sides appear to have changes since Daniel Sturridge poked home his stoppage time winner.
Bale and his teammates have won their two games against Russia and Northern Ireland and will now face Belgium for a spot in the last four.
England… yeah, you know the rest.
Ahead of the first quarter final between Portugal and Poland, ITV aired another interview with Bale. In which he was asked what he thought Wales had done that England hadn’t in the tournament. Well, what else was he supposed to say?
