Manchester United beaten to second major transfer announcement in three days

Slow off the mark

Are Manchester United’s PR department still on holidays.

United have signed Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund. Maybe someone should tell them because they have not officially announced it yet.

Borussia Dortmund have.

This is the second time in two days that a major United transfer has been revealed by someone other than United.

On Thursday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic told the world ‘I am coming’. It was only on Friday afternoon that United got the word out, and released an interview with the Swedish striker.

The 27-year-old’s agent is one Mino Raiola, who also looks after Ibrahimovic… and Paul Pogba.

Mkhitaryan joined Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 for £23.5m and scored 40 goals in 136 games for the Bundesliga team. He is expected to cost United £26m.
