Chris Gunter has found a solution to his best man problem

It's not perfect but it'll do

Wales defender Chris Gunter has found himself in a very unfortunate situation.

The Reading player, who is his country’s most-capped active international with 72 appearances for the Dragons, was due to fly to Mexico this week for his brother’s wedding, where he is best man.

But Wales’ remarkable run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 mean Chris will not be able to join brother Marc on the other side of the Atlantic.

No bother, though – the Daily Mirror reports that he will fulfil his best man duties over Skype.

Wales v Belgium - Quarter Final: UEFA Euro 2016

Marc Gunter has been in France cheering on his brother and the rest of Chris Coleman’s squad, but will miss the semi-final match with Portugal in Lyon.

That won’t be the case for the brothers’ parents, though, who have opted to stay in France and miss the wedding ceremony.

We suspect they’ll need to get Marc and his wife-to-be a very generous present to make up for it.

In fairness, they were within their rights not to expect to have to make what must have been a very difficult decision.

Wales have never made the semi-finals of a major tournament before, though they did reach the last eight in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.
