Tyson Fury reveals a new date for rematch with Wladimir Klitschko

It's back on...

Tyson Fury’s eagerly anticipated rematch with Wladimir Klitschko should have been a matter of days away.

Unfortunately, an ankle injury for the Mancunian meant that the fight was postponed and we were all left wondering how we were going to spend our Saturday night.

After a (very) brief trip to France to watch England at Euro 2016, it seems Tyson Fury has now confirmed a revised date for bout.

’16 weeks Saturday I blast @Klitschko spark out,’ the 27-year-old tweeted, confirming the fight is due to take place in Manchester on October 29 for those of you not bother to do the maths.

Fury defeated Klitschko in Dusseldorf last November, being declared winner by unanimous decision after a brutal, if somewhat uneventful bout. This brought to an end Klitschko’s 10-year reign at the top of the heavyweight division – the second longest in history – and also saw Fury take his WBA, WBO and IBF and IBO titles.

Fury was later stripped of the IBF title after agreeing to a rematch with Klitschko instead of facing mandatory IBF challenger, Vyacheslav Glazkov.

But we doubt it’ll make the big night any less special when they finally do come toe-to-toe on October 29 in Manchester.
