The biggest signing of the summer could be on the verge of happening.
It has dragged on for what seems like an eternity. Daily reports have told that Manchester United are ‘preparing’ to ‘swoop’ for Paul Pogba, and that they’re ‘set to bid’ for the player since May.
After all the media foreplay, it finally sounds like a formal approach has been made. Various reports suggest that United finally made contact with Juventus on Tuesday, and that a bid of €100m has been ‘lodged’.
Whether such a mammoth proposal is to the Turin club’s liking is anyone’s guess. The expectation is that after some more to-ing and fro-ing, a deal is likely. Juve will receive a tidy bundle for a very tidy player.
If it were to happen, the benefits to United are clear: they would boast one of the most sought after midfielders in the world, who contributed to nearly a third of his side’s goals last season.
But it seems that Reds’ supporters have found an added bonus in signing the talented Frenchman – and the bigger the fee the better.
The potential transfer and huge cost has got rival fans all hot under the collar, complaining that the player is not worth such an amount and arguing that he is not what Jose Mourinho’s side need.
In euphemistic speak, United supporters are enjoying a sudden increase in temperature of granny’s peach tea. In plain language, they’re loving how it’s got everyone’s piss boiling…
With all the piss boiling here, really hope we sign Pogba just for the sake of it.
