Manchester United youngster shows maturity beyond his years with audacious lob

Incredible composure.

Joshua Harrop is a player to keep an eye on.

The 20-year-old Manchester United prospect really shone during the reserves’ 5-1 drubbing of Salford City during the week and has Messi-esque golazo to prove it.

Harrop came off the bench at around the 60-minute mark, but immediately made an impact on the game. The youngster opened his account with a stunning curled effort that brought the scoreline to 3-1, essentially killing the game off as a contest.

But he wasn’t done yet – added his second in the 77th minute, scoring yet another sensational strike that will surely have turned a lot of heads.

Harrop made a great run into space off the back of a United counter-attack to receive the ball on the edge of the box. With just the keeper in front of him, he found himself under pressure from a speeding defender who was trying desperately to get back into position.

Rather than take the first-time shot, Harrop remained composed and took a touch to dupe the incoming defender whose attempt at a sliding block came to nothing. With the keeper a mere inches away, Harrop swiftly hit a perfectly executed lob that went sailing over the keeper and bounced into the net.

James Wilson, Tosin Kehinde and Demi Mitchell also grabbed goals during the game, but it was Harrop whose praises Red Devils fans were singing after the match.
