First thing’s first, Enner Valencia will be making exactly zero appearances for Swansea this season.
That much we know as the Ecuador international signed a season-long loan deal with Everton on deadline day, taking him away from West Ham until next May.
Take a look at that last sentence. Do you see any mention of Swansea? No. You do not.
But you would have seen a different message entirely if you had so happened to check the Swans’ official website on Thursday morning, when the transfer dust was settling.
An article, published on the club’s official website late on deadline day, introduced you to Valencia as “the Swans’ latest signing” before the author challenged the striker to back up his “Superman” nickname during his time at the Liberty Stadium.
And unless Valencia scores an own goal when the Toffees travel to Swansea for their Premier League clash next May, he will really struggle to make an impact for the South Wales club.

It was quickly taken down and we can only imagine that someone writing for Swansea’s website received a stern talking-to this morning.
But we’re surprised this kind of thing doesn’t happen more often considering the way deals seem to just fall apart at the last second these days.
