Liverpool fans won’t be the only ones looking forward to Jürgen Klopp’s Monday Night Football debut.

The Reds boss has been invited onto the show to add some extra spice to the glamour tie that is, ahem, Burnley v Watford.

And Sky Sports have provided a sneak preview, showing the moment the German was welcomed to the famous studio by presenter David Jones.

Klopp reflects on his previous TV work in Germany, where he was involved in coverage of the 2006 World Cup while still manager of Mainz.

“I’d like to think I’m only in the position I am now because of my wonderful managing skills, but probably, yeah, a lot more people knew me after [the World Cup],” Klopp admits.

“It was quite successful, it was a wonderful tournament, everybody was there, the weather was brilliant…my face every second day on television.

“Nobody really knew me then. Not a problem, but the problem then was when I came home I still lived like a person who nobody cares about. But when I was in the garden trying to water the flowers, buses passed my house…waving at me, so we had to change a few things and adapt to the new situation.”

We don’t think Klopp will have the same problem after his MNF debut, though that’s because the widespread attention is already there.
