We wonder if Monaco will regret letting forward Lacina Traoré leave for CSKA Moscow on loan?
English fans may remember the Ivorian from his short-lived spell with Everton, where he scored on his debut but played just one more game due to injury.
Traoré returned to the French Riviera in 2014 and even pitched in with a couple of goals in last season’s Europa League, but the return from loan of Falcao made him surplus to requirements.
Shortly after letting him move to Russia in July, Monaco learned that they would be up against their former charge in the Champions League.
No bother, though. Surely he wouldn’t come back to bite them. Surely.

Unlike in the Premier League, players are permitted to take to the field against their parent clubs in UEFA competition. We also saw it last season when Bayern Munich’s on-loan Juventus winger Kingsley Coman scored the extra-time clincher as Bayern saw off their Italian opponents in the Champions League last 16.
Traoré is just the latest to take advantage, composing himself and tapping home after good work from another forgotten Premier League player.
That’s right, the run and shot you can see in the video above comes from none other than Manchester United stalwart (five appearances, no goals) Zoran ToÅ¡ić.
Drink it in.
