Wednesday night was not the finest night of Kolo Toure’s career as a professional footballer.
The third game of the Ivorian’s latest Champions League adventure saw him and his Celtic team mates welcome Borussia Mönchengladbach (a.k.a ‘A German Team’) to Glasgow.
After getting battered in the Camp Nou in their first group match this season, a 3-3 draw in their second at home with Manchester City brought a renewed sense of optimism for Celtic’s support going in to the match with the Bundesliga outfit.
But it wasn’t to be, with two second half errors from Toure presenting the away side with the game’s only two goals.
The first, coming on 57 minutes, came as a result of Toure’s failure to shepherd a ball out for a goal kick. Robbed of possession by Andre Hahn, the ball was toe poked into the path of Lars Stindl who managed to rifle home the opener.
Twenty minutes later, a sloppy pass from the defender gifted the ball to Hahn, who motored through to get the final goal of the match.
By his own admission, it was a mistake worthy of a 16-year-old.

His double nightmare soon had viewers comparing him to another error-prone Celtic centre half.
I've just found Kolo Toure tied up in the dressing room.
Turns out Efe Ambrose stole his shirt and went out for the second half.

#Celtic 0-2 #Monchengladbach Kolo Toure has turned into an Efe Ambrose tribute act …

Surely that's Efe Ambrose dressed as Kolo Toure for Halloween and sneaked a game?

Don’t worry though Kolo, we still remember that completely deliberate piece of improvised defending you did in Barcelona a few weeks back. You’ll bounce back from this.
