Fans take the mickey out of every aspect of Jose Mourinho getting sent off at home to Burnley

Are you not entertained?

With the standard of football being so poor, fans used Jose Mourinho’s sending off as their main source of entertainment.

For the first half of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Burnley on Saturday, the Special One remained in his technical area. However, the United boss was handed his marching orders at half time, which is understood to be a result of an outburst he made at the referee.

Mourinho was clearly unhappy with Mark Clattenburg not awarding a penalty for a challenge on Matteo Darmian. He made no attempt to hide the fact that he disagreed with the decision.

Just before the second half was due to start, Mourinho walked up to watch the game in the stands among the crowd after being sent-off. He found a seat next to first-team players Eric Bailly, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who were all absent from the United squad for the game.

As you can imagine, football fans on social media were very unsympathetic towards Mourinho.

One particular development of note from Mourinho’s newfound role as spectator was that he was reportedly seen writing down instructions on paper and passing them down to the United bench. Again, everyone found this to be amusing.

While others got their kicks from the Red Devils boss unable to settle on a seat.

Some days you just can’t catch a break.

The match ended 0-0 as a determined Tom Heaton in the Burnley goal kept wave after wave of United attacks at bay to earn Burnley a point.
