Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joined elite company by scoring the 25,000th Premier League goal

Here's who scored the last few milestone goals.

Tom Victor

It’s taken Zlatan Ibrahimovic just 11 games to make Premier League history.

The Swedish striker had been in a bit of a barren spell for Manchester United, going six games without scoring in all competitions.

But it seems all he needed to return to form was for someone to tell him he could lay claim to the 25,000th goal in Premier League history.

Sure enough, after Paul Pogba gave Manchester United an early lead in Swansea, Ibrahimovic put his name in the record books.

Now we’ve got a little game for you.

Can you remember who scored the 20,000th goal since the competition got underway back in 1992?

How about the 15,000th? The 10,000th? How about the player who brought up the big 5k?

Wonder no more – we have the answers for you.

20,000th Premier League goal – Marc Albrighton

The Leicester winger brought up the milestone when he was still at Aston Villa, scoring an equaliser in an eventual defeat at home to Arsenal just before Christmas 2011.

It was his last Premier League goal for Villa, but he bounced back in style after leaving the club permanently in 2014.

15,000 – Moritz Volz

The German full-back, who did some TV work during his time in England, is perhaps best known for his nickname ‘15,000 Volz’.

That moniker arrived after the former Arsenal man scored Fulham’s opener in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea back in December 2006.

10,000 – Les Ferdinand

Another player to eventually move into TV, these days Ferdinand is back at former club QPR as Director of Football.

He brought the Premier League goal tally into five figures back in 2001, and like Volz’s strike it came in a London derby – it was the opener in a 4-0 win for Tottenham against Fulham.

5,000 – Andy Townsend or Chris Sutton

Both Townsend and Sutton have laid claim to goal number 5,000, with the pair scoring at different grounds at more or less the same time back in 1996.

Townsend’s winner for Aston Villa against Southampton and Sutton’s strike for Blackburn against Leicester were jointly awarded goal number 4,999 and 5,000. It was just that hard to separate them.

5000

So there you have it. Based on previous players’ achievements, Ibrahimovic has an 80% chance of becoming a pundit and a 40% chance of winning the Premier League.

That’s how these things work, right?
