Daffodils, spring onions – same difference
It’s fair to say most women would love to be surprised with a bunch of flowers by their husband.
This, though, is probably not *quite* what they have in mind.
FFS, Dave.
As she explained in her tweet, Helen Newman had ordered some daffodils from Asda earlier in the week and after not having received them, she went to complain and managed to get a refund.
Turns out, however, they had arrived all along. Her partner, Dave, had mistaken them for spring onion and chucked them straight in the fridge.
We all have our moments – there’s no denying that – but we have to say, this one made us chuckle. Perhaps the best part about the story is that UK’s most reputable opticians got in there first and made the joke we were all thinking of:
See you soon, Dave.

Unsurprisingly, the tweet went viral, with nearly 90k likes and over 5,000 retweets.
Just goes to show, there’s nothing Brits like more than cock-ups and the daftest of humour. Never change, Dave, never change.
