Bus drivers continue to operate without PPE
Frontline workers across the United Kingdom are being forced to work without personal protective equipment. From doctors to nurses and care home workers, key staff in Britain are being put in harm’s way because of a lack of supplies.
Another group of workers who have received less publicity but are also finding themselves in precarious positions each day are Transport for London bus drivers. Buses in London continue to operate as normal, with drivers encountering the public much the same as before.
While they have their protective glass separating them from the passengers, drivers have not been provided PPE, and have been forced to source their own masks and gloves to keep themselves safe.
They need PPE to do their jobs safely, and they’re not getting it. A number of them have died already.
