“I don’t think I would have last lockdown”
Among the myriad issues brought about by the nation living in lockdown, an increase in reports of domestic violence is one of the most worrying.
Many people who before lockdown would have been able to leave their home and spend time with friends and family in a bid to get away from their abuser, are now left with no choice but to remain inside with them.
JOE spoke to a domestic violence survivor who discussed the horror of being abused by someone that is supposed to care about you, and explains why – had he not left when he did – he feels he wouldn’t have lasted lockdown.
