What a start to the year
Friends is not so much a TV programme, as a cultural phenomenon. It has inspired haircuts, fashion, they way we talk, the way we date, the way we tell jokes, and a whole plethora of copycat sitcoms looking to replicate the magic of the iconic original.
Alas nothing comes close to the Central Perk six when it comes to non-stop laughs and enduring mainstream appeal. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross graced our screens for ten glorious years between 1994 and 2004, and have since been watched on repeat on various channels.
That’s great to an extent, but in some ways it dampens the enthusiasm for many. They don’t want to just happen to grab the odd random show every now and again whilst flicking through what’s on. They want to enjoy the journey that the wholesome sextet experience together.
But finally, for those of us who can’t be bothered dusting off a bad quality DVD (what are they?) and want to watch the show on the move, the whole of Friends is now available on Netflix. That’s right – you can watch any episode of your favourite comedy when you want, where you want.
Could we *be* more excited?!
