Angela Scanlon has been targeted by angry social media users after she made an innocent comment on The One Show.
Angela recently took over presenting as part of a maternity cover and has been a hit with viewers until last night.
Together with her co-presenter, Matt Baker, they were chatting to Don Warrington and Kris Marshall who star in Death In Paradise.
As part of the conversation, the pair were asked to try and solve a fictional crime, as they play police in their latest movie.
According to The Sun, the mystery went as follows:
“Two friends eat dinner together. They both ordered iced tea. One drank fast and downed five iced teas in the time it took the other one to drink just one.
The diner who drank one died while the other one who drank five survived.
All of the drinks were poisoned. So the question is why did the diner who only drank one iced tea die?”
After Matt had read that out Angela asked, “Was it a peanut allergy? It’s always a peanut allergy.”
Her comments quickly spawned a negative response on social media with people giving out that she has been “insensitive”.

totally disgusted that you made a joke about dying from peanut allergy. That could be my 10 year old daughter.

@BBCOne disappointed that @angelascanlon finds peanut allergies amusing. Try living with the fact that peanuts could kill your child
