Produced by M. Night Shyamalan, the film has been earning comparisons to a hit Netflix show.
Caddo Lake, a 2024 mind-bending mystery thriller, is newly available to watch through NOW Cinema and Sky Cinema.
Produced by M. Night Shyamalan, the film stars Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) and Eliza Scanlen (Old) as two strangers whose lives intertwine in strange ways after a teen girl goes missing in the title area – a body of water on the border of Texas and Louisiana.
Co-starring Eric Lange (Sugar) and Lauren Ambrose (Servant), revealing any more about the plot of Caddo Lake would spoil much of the thrills of the movie.
All we’ll say is that its story should appeal to fans of emotional, moody mystery thrillers with a twist, such as the hit Netflix show Dark – a series with which the film is earning comparisons.
Holding a solid 77% critics score and 81% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, you can read some of the positive reviews for Caddo Lake right here:
Forbes: “Caddo Lake is an excellent genre-bender where its direction is almost impossible to predict. And once it reveals its true nature, it only gets more interesting from there.”
Next Best Picture: “Caddo Lake is a delightful surprise of this year’s spooky season that will both entertain and move its audience members.”
Polygon: “The real twist is, by the end, you actually give a damn about the drama of it all.”
RogerEbert.com: “It helps to have a pair of leads who commit to the immediacy of their characters, never winking at the camera like lesser performers would with a script that’s this fundamentally insane.”
TheWrap: “It’s intelligently crafted and falls together quite well, despite a narrative that turns complicated quite quickly. You are safe in writer/directors Logan George and Celine Held’s hands. They’ve thought it all through.”
Caddo Lake is available to watch in Ireland and the UK through NOW Cinema and Sky Cinema.
