America needs you, Chris
Chris Evans is nearing a deal to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America, according to a Deadline exclusive.
Deadline report sources have told them a deal that would see Evans return for one more film, though it may not be a Captain America title.
It is reportedly more likely that, as Robert Downey Junior did as Ironman, Evans makes smaller appearances in other Marvel titles.
Having played the lead role in three Captain America movies in the past decade, Evans has been vocal in his intentions to hang up his shield after the release of Avengers: Endgame back in 2019. He even handed that shield over to Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, at the end of Endgame.
However, Marvel are not ones to let plot holes like that get in the way of anything. And reports suggest Evans is now more keen on returning to play Steve Rogers aka Captain America one more time.
Regardless of the nature of Evans’ reported return to the MCU, it is sure to excite Marvel fans around the globe.
Disney recently confirmed that he would voice Buzz Lightyear in a spinoff series.
Lightyear, a Toy Story spin-off, is set to be released in June 2022, and tells the story of how the ‘original’ Buzz Lightyear went from being a young test pilot to the Space Ranger that inspired the action figure toy range.
This will be the first time Buzz has been voiced by someone other than Tim Allen, who has filled the role for each of the four Toy Story films.
