Singer Demi Lovato was on Tuesday hospitalised in Los Angeles
The 25-year-old US-native reportedly overdosed on heroin.
Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ says that Demi was transported from a property in the Hollywood Hills just before noon on Tuesday.
She is currently undergoing treatment and her condition is not known.
Demi has openly spoken of her battles with addiction, however, she recently claimed she hasn’t taken cocaine in six years.
Late last year, Ms Lovato released a second documentary about her career and life. The first – Stay Strong – was made in 2012.
In Simply Complicated she admitted that the extent of her drug addiction was worse than most realised. Indeed, she wasn’t even clean during the filming of Stay Strong– sneaking into bathrooms to take cocaine and faking drug tests with other people’s urine.
Demi first took cocaine at 17. She has said: “I felt out of control with the coke the first time that I did it,” adding, however, that she grew to “love it.”
The star furthermore has spoken of her fears of overdosing. During what she describes as a two-month “bender” after a stint in rehab, she mixed cocaine and Xanax.
“I started to choke a little bit and my heart started racing. I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, I might be overdosing right now.'”
