Surely they are aware of what they’re doing here?
ITV bosses today released their updated schedule for Saturday after Ant McPartlin’s arrest on suspicion of drink driving and subsequent return to rehab has forced them to pull Saturday Night Takeaway.
They have made the completely inadvisable decision, however, to include Fast Five in the rescheduling, which will air at 22:15, just over an hour after Saturday Night Takeaway would have finished.
Updated ITV schedule for this Saturday (24th March):
1830 You've Been Framed!
1900 The Voice UK
2100 Through The Keyhole
2200 ITV News and Weather
2215 Fast & Furious 5
0030 (GMT) Take Me Out
0225 (BST) Jackpot247
0400 (BST) Babushka— The Voice UK Press (@thevoiceukpress) March 19, 2018
If you need me to explain why this is bad, or insensitive, then here you go: the clue is in the name The Fast and the Furious. You know what the films are about, right?
Understandably, ITV have been completely ridiculed on social media for the move:
Without irony ITV have scheduled the film Fast and Furious for Saturday night!

Somebody at ITV has a dark sense of humour. Saturday Night Takeaway cancelled due to one of the presenters being pulled over for drink driving? Replaced with Fast & Furious 5!
