The multiverse is happening

According to reports from Slash Film, the next Spider-Man film will likely feature all three live-action movies Spideys.

Tom Holland, the current Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man, will reportedly be joined by both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the third MCU solo Spidey film. According to Collider, Garfield is all signed on, while Maguire is still in talks.

The respective love-interests of those Peter Parkers are also reportedly going to return. According to Collider, Kirsten Dunst is to return as MJ, and Emma Stone is expected to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy, pregnancy permitting.

It has been heavily rumoured that the third MCU Spider-Man film will feature some sort of cross-over with the previous Spidey film timelines.

There have been many reports that Jamie Foxx is due to reprise his role as Electro from the  Amazing Spider-Man films. And earlier this week the story broke that Alfred Molina would return as Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2.

Jamie Foxx also hinted in a now-deleted Instagram post that three Spider-Men could appear in the film.

Spider-Man: Far From Home ended with an appearance from the great J K Simmons as J Jonah Jameson – a role he played in that original Tobey Maguire trilogy.

Tobey Maguire started in the first trilogy of Spider-Man films, which ran from 2002 to 2007. Directed by Sam Raimi, they also starred Kirsten Dunst, James Franco and Willem Dafoe.

Those were followed by the Amazing Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.

A third live-action Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, was introduced into the MCU in Captain America: Civil War. He has since had two solo films, Homecoming and Far From Home, as well as being a big part of Avengers: Infinity War.

Hopefully, they can also find a way to let the 1970s TV Spider-Man Nicholas Hammond and Japanese Spider-Man appear as well.
